Practical Information

The ‘Feminist Explorations of Urban Futures’ conference will be held at York University, where the GenUrb project is housed at the City Institute.

The address is: 4700 Keele St, Toronto, ON M3J 1P3. The conference will be located in the Banquet space of the Second Student Centre.

ACCOMMODATION

The conference will be held at York University’s Keele Campus, which is easily accessible via subway (York University Station, on Line 1 Yonge-University of the Toronto Subway). On-campus accommodation is limited so we encourage participants to find accommodation in downtown Toronto and take a Line 1 train (destination Vaughan Metropolitan Centre) to York University Station. It takes approximately 45 minutes to get to York University Station from downtown Toronto.

PASSPORT, VISA, ETA, AND LETTER OF INVITATION

In order to visit Canada, you must have a valid passport, and citizens of certain countries and territories need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). To find out if you need a visa or an ETA, visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. Depending on your citizenship, you should allow approximately between 30 to 85 days for a visa delivery. Participants who need an official letter of invitation in order to obtain a visa will be able to request it through our conference email genurb[at]yorku[dot]ca. It is important to note that the letter does not constitute any financial commitment on behalf of the Organizing Committee or GenUrb.
