GenUrb releases new book, “Handbook on Gender and Cities”
October 20, 2024In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Penn Tsz Ting Ip, Linda Peake, Anindita Datta are co-convening a workshop on the the intersection of urban studies and gender studies in studying urbanization in Asia. Join the GenUrb team and scholars from the Hong Kong Metropolitan University between December 5th and 6th, 2024 to explore how urban development and global capitalism continue to influence the lives of women across social classes. This workshop will also be an opportunity to build academic networks between urban feminist scholars based in cities in mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Canada and the U.S. The team will also launch the edited volume, Feminist Explorations of Urban China (Routledge 2025).
