Shanghai CRT researcher Penn Tsz Ting Ip’s new paper, published in the Journal of Urban Affairs, draws from fieldwork conducted between 2017 and 2021 and explores the socio-spatial lives of low-income women in Shanghai’s Workers’ New Villages. The article “develops and coins the term grassrootscapes to explicate grassroots women’s sociospatial relations with housing units, the community, and the city”. Read the article here.
